1 - Cosmetology of acne

The causes of acne are often internal, as we have seen previously.

But it can also be caused and aggravated by an inadequate beauty routine.

The culprits? Occlusive ingredients like mineral oils and silicones found in skin creams, but also detergent sulfates in some cleansing foams.

But also bad beauty habits such as poor skin cleansing.

5 mistakes not to make:

  • Stripping the skin

Very aggressive detergents such as micellar water and soap should not be used.

Why not? The pH of these products is alkaline/basic, whereas our skin naturally has an acidic pH, which allows it to fight against bad bacteria.

  • "Anti-acne" treatments

Beware of commercial purifying anti-acne treatments that dry out the skin and make it produce more sebum to defend itself.

Acne-prone skin needs to be hydrated, nourished and smoothed.

  • Over-stimulating the skin

When you have acne, you tend to overdo it, changing your routine every four mornings to try new "miracle" products and multiplying treatments for quick results.

Patience, kindness and regularity are the key words!

  • Triturate skin

Even if the temptation is strong, avoid popping your pimples.

This is the best way to superinfect the skin and end up with scars.

  • Comedogenicity

Using comedogenic products can clog pores and make inflammation worse.

Use non-comedogenic products.
